O’DEMPSEY’S made no mistake at the second time of asking taking out a highly fancied Timahoe side in their replayed Laois SFC quarter-final on Wednesday evening.

O’Dempsey’s looked like they had missed their chance to make the last four in the first game last Saturday as they wasted a number of goal chances but there was no mistake last night as they found the back of the net twice with crucial goals that were the difference between the sides.

They lead from the start and held a comfortable lead for much of the game.

After opening up a 1-2 to 0-0 lead early in the game, they kept Timahoe in check and their second goal late in the piece put them 2-11 to 0-9 clear effectively ending any hopes of a Timahoe revival.

THREE teams have advanced to the semi-finals of the Laois Senior Football Championship while Timahoe and O’Dempsey’s will have to do it again on Wednesday night after playing out a draw.

Following O’Dempsey’s win over Timahoe last night in their replayed Laois Senior Football Championship quarter-final, the draw was made for the semi-finals which will be played on October 7.
