Portlaoise and Clough-Ballacolla wrapped up the Laois Senior Football and Senior Hurling titles over the weekend in two very contrasting games.

An early goal from Bruno McCormack sent Portlaoise on the way victory over their arch rivals Arles Kilcruise on Sunday afternoon. That goal put them 1-1 to 0-1 ahead and they held that advantage throughout the game.

They led by 1-7 to 0-5 at half-time and they held a constant seven point advantage throughout the second-half before eventually winning by 1-13 to 0-9 to claim their six title in a row.

In stark contrast to how Portlaoise cruised to victory, Rathdowney-Errill had to come from seven points down to secure victory in the Senior Hurling Final. Clough Ballacolla were on fire in the first-half and led by 0-13 to 0-6 at the break.

However after half-time they could only add one point to their total while Rathdowney-Errill found their form adding 11 points to secure a 0-17 to 0-14 win.

Elsewhere Emo won the Intermediate Football Final overcoming Ballyroan Abbey by 2-12 to 1-8.
