Facing into yet another AIB Leinster Club Senior Football final – the Portlaoise Senior Football team are breaking new ground for a club experiencing continuing development on and off the pitch.

Speaking ahead of the team’s appearance in the AIB Leinster Club Senior Football final this Sunday against Ballymun Kickhams in Mullingar, Club Treasurer John Hanniffy says, behind the scenes Portlaoise GAA club are in the midst of the development of their new grounds and playing fields. The progress on the pitch is no accident, say Committee members who recognise that a strong support base off the field is just as critical for success.

John Hanniffy commented, “Laois Hire have been more than just a sponsor. They’ve supported us for over 10 years, and have been integral to our transformation off the pitch, especially by lending their support to the development of our new grounds. They’ve been hugely influential in helping to get us to a new phase of our facilities for our Club and our Community.”

Michael Killeen, Managing Director of Laois Hire and main sponsors of the Portlaoise GAA Club says, “the development of the Portlaoise GAA club and its infrastructure will impact on the success of it’s players on the pitch. So as a local business, employing local people, and indeed many club members, we feel strongly that our support is there, year after year. Laois Hire have been supporting the club at all levels for a decade, and we will commit to this support going forward. We congratulate the players and the backroom team on their success this year, and we wish them well on Sunday.”

Laois Hire is part of AIB’s new campaign Club is Family, to promote local clubs.
