A superb display of marksmanship from Michael Lanigan proved to be the difference between these local rivals last Friday night, as he scored an impressive 0-14 to guide The Harps to a two point win.
The Harps 0-17
Ballinakill 2-9
Lanigan scored all of The Harps’ points in the second half, ten in total, and all of his scores came from placed balls as he repeatedly punished lapses in Ballinakill discipline. His performance was pivotal to securing the victory, but at the same time The Harps will know they can’t expect him to drag them through every game.
With only three points from play for the winners, they will need to improve on that statistic in future outings, but on this occasion they could rely on Lanigan’s accuracy to get them through.
See this week’s Leinster Express for full report on this game.
