Wonderful Alice steals the show

AN incredible individual tally of 5-5 from star of the show Alice Walsh played a major part in a stunning win for Shanahoe over a fancied Killeen team.

By half-time she had already completed her hat-trick as Shanahoe built a 13 point lead and she chipped in with two more in the second-half as her side romped home.

She scored the first 2-1 of the game to get Shanahoe off to a flying start but Killeen eventually got off the mark with a goal of their own from Josephine Behan.

That goal however only gave Killeen a brief repreive as Shanahoe rattled off another 3-3 in short order with the goals coming from Ciara Lalor, Maggie O’Toole and Alice Walsh again as she completed a stunnnin hat-trick.

Killeen never gave up and added a second goal of their own before the break with Josephine Behan scoring after being set up by Sara Lyons to leave the half-time score at Shanahoe 5-4 Killen 2-0.

Lyons added a point after the restart to give Killeen a glimmer of hope but it was all one way traffic from there as Shanahoe double their half-time total with another 5-4 after the break.

Alice Walsh added two more goals while Maggie O’Toole added her second and Megan Walsh also got in on the goal scoring act. Substitute Jane Madden rounded off the scoring with a late goal
