Double success for U-16 boys

Portlaoise travelled to Newbridge on Sunday to play Longford Falcons in the next round of the Midland League.

Portlaoise started the game with fine baskets from Conor O’Donovan. Portlaoise stayed strong with great defence from all players and great rebounding from Dan Wolski and Andrew Meehan under the boards was limiting the opposition to one-chance offences.

Portlaoise kept up the great work both ends of the floor but Falcons continued to put pressure on Portlaoise. As Portlaoise continued to increase the pressure forcing a very comfortable lead, Falcons stayed fighting until the end, but was not good enough as Portlaoise were well deserved winners.
