Double success on the road for U-16 boys

The boys U-16 team made it two wins from two games in the Kilkenny league in the past week with big wins over both Old Leighlin and Tramore.

In a very tight encounter they overcame a resilient Tramore side on a scoreline of 43-38. It took the Portlaoise side time to settle into the game but eventually got the upper hand as they brought the game inside through Andrew Meehan and Daniel Wolski who between them rounded off great performances together scoring twenty five points.

Great work from outside by Patrick Crithcley created the opportunities for the big men inside while Conor O’Donovan did excellent on the boards while contributing well on the break.

In their second game of the week Portlaoise again found themselves on the road and came out with another brilliant result and performance. All twelve players contributed throughout showing the great strength in depth available to coach Jack Scully.

Superb control and movement on the outside from Conor Whalley and Patrick Critchley created the opportunities inside for Andrew Meehan and Daniel Wolski to dominate again. The excellent overall display gives this side great confidence ahead of some very testing matches ahead in the midlands league. Portlaoise Panthers finished out the game to win on a scoreline of
