If you want to see Ireland s premier offroad motorcycle and quad racers, both from the past and the present, then Treascon, Portarlington is the place you will want to be on Sunday, September 30.

The newly formed YMSA Leinster Offroad club are running their second grasstrack of the year on this fast and spectacular newly designed track on Anthony Sheedy s Land at Clondoolusk where championship events were previously run.
Over 150 riders of all ages, from youths on 50cc bikes, to the elite current competitors on the latest 2012 bikes and quads, will be racing at their best to score points in the Championship

There will be a big contingent of Past Masters and Champions who will take out their bikes from the seventies and eighties and blow the cobwebs off them. The club helped sponsor Team Ireland , where it had 12 riders take part in the World Vets Des nations in Farleigh Castle in the UK. It is expected that the whole team will be out racing, a spectacle unseen before on these shores.
A typical race consists of twenty riders starting side by side and when the gate drops these race bikes are unleashed, with riders doing speeds of 80 MPH, sliding sideways around a one mile track, with the winner taking the chequered flag after six laps.

It’s fast and furious with the next race ready to go almost immediately so the audience are kept on their toes. First race is 12pm and admission is €5 for adults with under 12 s are free and free parking. There will be refreshments sold on site and a few stalls selling motorcycle clothing and accessories.
Local racers will include Andy and Jason Browne, The Mathews Clan, Sean Hoey , Jason Whelan, Stefan Cocklyn, Eoin Oneill, Eddy Downey, Conor Duff and The Gossun Murray, so please come and give this new club your support.

Any local enquiries to the event can contact Andy Browne 089 4781130
