Huge turnout for Great Heath 10k

The second staging of The Great Heath 10k proved to be another big success, as a field of 425 runners enjoyed the best of the January sunshine around the scenic route.

Top honours on the day went to Thomas Fitzpatrick, who was the first to cross the line in a very impressive time of 32.01, followed home by Tom Hogan in second and Catch Grennan in third.

The first lady to cross the line was Linda Byrne in 34.50, with Pauline Curley second and Barbara Sanchez third. The U-19 winner was Shane Skelly, while the team prize went to Tallaght AC.

The club expressed their thanks to organiser Michael Lenihan for the smooth running of the event, as well as to local GardaĆ­, Civil Defence, and club members who helped to steward the on the day.
