More to come from Portlaoise U-14s

Portlaoise U-14 boys travelled to Portarlington on Sunday to take on the home side Kestrels and Kildare Gliders.

The boys got off to a great start against Kestrels considering their lack of game experience at this level. Kestrels eventually got into their stride but the Panthers boys never gave up and some great individual performances from newcomers Jason Maher and Kornel Pietraszuk kept the scoreboard ticking over. Kestrels ran out winners in this game and showed their quality and experience right to the end.

In their second game of the day Panthers played a much more physical side in Gliders. From the very start Gliders looked to get the ball inside and Portlaoise found it difficult to cope with the pressure.

Again Portlaoise showed signs of coming together and great shooting from Conor Mc Kenna and ball handling by Jack O’Reilly showed coach Peter O’Sullivan that more games will bring the team on in the next couple of months.
