Mountmellick’s Jack Wiseley has been selected for the KBI Irish Team who will travel to Slovakia on Friday to compete in the week long Junior World Championships.

This is a great achievement for the young fighter as he has gone from strength to strength over the past few years. He will be competing in the Kick Light Division and is hoping to excel against the other competitors.

Jack has been training all summer long in order to be ready for these competitions and has attended all of the KickBoxing Ireland’s training camps that were held in various venues all over the country. He feels well prepared and is confident he will do well for the team.

Jack, his Parents and Combat Kickboxing Mountmellick would also like to send out a big thank you to all who have supported him in both fundraising and training in particular Laois Sports Partnership, Supervalu Mountmellick, McElwee’s Pharmacy and Mountmellick Credit Union for their generous support and helping make this trip possible.

Kickboxing receives no official funding in Ireland and therefore it is necessary to try get support from local businesses and people in order to help our youth to excel at the sport. This trip is the first of many that Jack will be able to attend as part of the Irish team and will need much more support in the future.

Combat Kickboxing would like to extend best wishes and a safe journey to Jack and all the Irish team members who will be travelling and hope they have a great time as this is a great opportunity for them to compete against the best in the world.
