Hogan and Curley take the honours in Emo Forest Run

On what was just a glorious evening in Emo, 376 participants lined up for the run (and walk) around the forests and grounds of Emo Court.

It was a competitive race at the front with Tom Hogan from Sliabh Buidhe Rovers pulling clear of the field to win in a time of 26:22. In second place was Ballyroan Abbeyleix and District AC’s ever strong athlete Tony Reilly in 26:37, and in third from Newbridge AC was Ciaran Care in a time of 27:07.

The first placed man over 40 was David Brophy from Tullamore Hariers in 29:36, and the first placed man over 50 was Martin McDonald of Ballyroan Abbeyleix and District AC coming in ahead in 29:06.

The ladies race was retained by Pauline Curley of Tullamore Harriers, coming home in a great time of 28:44, followed by Sonya McConnan from Dundrum South Dublin AC in 30:16.

Teresa Agar of St Abban’s AC was the third lady home in 30:50. The first placed woman over 40 was Mairead Moore from St. Abbans in 35:36, and the first lady over 50 was Eimear Mathews from Trilogy who came home in 35:51.

Well done and a huge thank you to all who turned out for our race - you came in your hundreds, and exceeded our expectations - and for that we are truly grateful.

We must thank all our sponsors - especially Daniels Centra in Portarlington who were a tremendous support for us this year.

Last, and by no means least, a big thank you to all our members and their families and friends who assisted with the organising and smooth running of the race yesterday - this could not have been possible without your help.

A full set of results is available on the St. Michaels Facebook page.
