Marlins make waves in Carlow

Laois Marlins were delighted to accept an invitation to attend the second annual Carlow Gala, where they competed against swimmers from Portarlington, Killkenny and Carlow clubs.

For two young Marlins, Niamh Ryan and Isabella Logan, it was their first official gala.

A total of 15 medals went to the Laois club, with following swimmers taking their places on the podium - Ross Doyle, silver 100m breaststroke; Ellen Garvey, bronze 100m freestyle; Christian Kenny-Carroll, silver 50w fly; Zara MacMahon, gold 50m backstroke, bronze, 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke; Conor MacMahon, bronze 50m freestyle.

Sinead Ni Chuinn gold, 100m fly, silver 100m breaststroke; Jack Rouget, bronze, 50m fly; Michael Spillane, silver 50m fly, bronze 100m freestyle and 50m breaststroke.

Medals also went to relay teams Zara McMahon, Ailbhe Ni Chuinn, Sadhbh Kenny-Carroll, Ellen Donoghue and Jack Rouget, Ross Doyle, Christian Kenny-Carroll, Michael Spillane.
