League title winning Portlaoise U-11s.

Portlaoise hosted Tullamore in this top of the table clash and they wrapped up the league title with a fantastic win.

From the start Portlaoise laid down a marker and set about attacking Tullamore. Portlaoise created chances early on but to Tullamore’s credit they defended well and there ‘keeper pulled off some fine saves.

Eventually Portlaoise broke the deadlock. A crossfield pass from Aaron Doran led to Eoin Naughton notching home Portlaoise’s first with an excellent finish. Portlaoise got a second soon after with a brilliant strike from Aaron Doran.

Some excellent passing by Portlaoise led to James White adding to his excellent goal tally this season with a neat finish. James soon turned provider when his pass led to Washington Hamisi adding a fourth for Portlaoise just before the break.

Colin Conroy finished the scoring with a exceptional finish just before the final whistle to make it 5-0. David Samuel in the Portlaoise goal was in top form and his kick outs caused havoc in the Tullamore defence.

Eddie Critchley, Kevin Swayne and Ben Brennan defended brilliantly throughout and cut out every Tullamore attack. Eoin Naughton, Washington Hamisi and James White were excellent for Portlaoise and caused Tullamore all sorts of problems.

Kevin O, Ruairi Fitz, Lee Talbot and Fergus Sheehy came on and were brilliant for Portlaoise. Aaron Doran was outstanding for Portlaoise as was captain fantastic Colin Conroy. Both players worked tirelessly throughout and deserved there Players of the match award.
