A deserved equalising goal by LOFFA FC was not enough to stop high flying Celtic defeating the away side to claim the points in this high tempo CCFL Division 4A match.

The game itself started slow and the early exchanges proved promising for the away side. A long Sean Dunne punt was flicked on by debutante Stephen O’Reilly allowing Christopher O’Neill to breach Celtics offside trap, however the home side managed to clear and then created chances of there own with Joseph Dooley clearing from the line after a quick Celtic set piece.

This quick movement proved fruitful for the title chasers, breaching the away sides defence to stab home from close range. LOFFA FC immediately responded but were denied when the home side goal keeper accidentally handled outside his area, as a result the chance was lost. At half time its was 1-0 to Midland Celtic.

.Into the second half, LOFFA FC were forced in to making substitutions as the soft ground was taking its toll with the away side losing captain Power and goalkeeper Martin Dollard. Celtic sensed this and pushed for a second with Dooley once more clearing from the line.

However, LOFFA battled on and gained a deserved equaliser. Man of the match David Finn, sporting a new Freddie Mercury mousetache for LOFFA FC fundraiser shave off in Kavanaghs November 29, whipped the ball into the opponent’s area and O Neill glanced a header into the back of the net. It was at least what LOFFA deserved and it is O’Neills first goal of the season.

Soon after, Kevin Donoher was denied a second goal for the away side after being taken down for what looked like a penalty. Celtic bounced back and the more experienced home side breached LOFFA FC defence to slide the ball into the back of the net for an undeserved lead. Celtic added a goal late on which meant a very flattering 3-1 result for the home side. It was a heartbreaking finish as notable performance levels on the pitch are as ever are improving with every game.

All are reminded, sponsorship cards are now available for the fundraiser in Kavanaghs Portlaoise on November 29.
