Longford manager Glenn Ryan has declared that all is well in the Longford camp ahead of this Sunday’s Leinster championship opener this weekend.
When asked to account for the reasons behind Longford’s scintillating league form, he reponded that he could only identify ‘a lot hard work’ as the prime factor in the success, and he was quick to insist that the League has been and gone, and he is only interested in looking forward.
He is acutely aware of the challenge posed by Laois, pointing to the wealth of underage honours of which many of their players can boast. He contended that last years agonising defeat to this Sunday’s opposition was useful in motivating the players over the early part of this season. However, he said last year’s match has little relevance to what will happen on Sunday.
