Bord na Móna has launched an investigation into the cause of a fire

Bord na Móna has launched an investigation into the cause of a fire at their  Recycling facility at Cappincur, Tullamore last night (29 February).

In a statement to Leinster Express / Laois Live the organisation said: "The fire was contained with support from local fire services, for which we are extremely grateful.

"The facility will remain closed while the damage is assessed. Thankfully no injuries were reported, and all employees are safe.

"Waste collection services in the area will continue as usual and we advise customers to leave their bins out as normal. If there are any changes to collections Bord na Mona Recycling will contact customers via text message.

"Any commercial customers impacted will be contacted by their sales representative."

Emergency services attended the scene of the fire on Thursday night which is believed to have started at around 9pm.
