Such was the demand last year for the comedy tent that two large screens had to be erected, and with an even better line-up this year the event is expected to be mobbed.

Organisers again expect the need for ‘Imax-like’ screens to satisfy the crowds.

BAFTA nominated for his work on two series of ‘Grandma’s House’ and ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’, Simon Amstell makes his Picnic debut this year.

David O Doherty’s Electric Picnic shows are the stuff of legend and this multi-award winning performer will bring his new show to Stradbally.

Brighton’s Seann Walsh has sold out shows all over the world and is another making a much anticipated Festival debut.

Rubberbandits return for the first time since 2010 for more mischief while David McSavage features with Savage Eye conspirators John Colleary and Patrick McDonnell.

Other much-anticipated performers include Jason Byrne, Aisling Bea, Eleanor Tiernan, Chris Kent, Jarlath Regan, Colm O’Regan, Karl Spain, Colum McDonnell, Fred Cooke and Eric Lalor. The Comedy Tent runs from 1.15pm-9pm each day on Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31.
