Errill Drama group all set to perform ‘Moll’

Errill Drama Group will be hosting performances of ‘Moll’ on Thursday April 3, Friday April 4 and Sunday April 6.

The play features strong performances by the trio of priests, and Mags Kavanagh Crous’ portrayal of the cunning Moll is wonderful. A strong, challenging role, Mags develops the character by giving rein to the desperation felt by single working women of the time, with so little security or rights. The support cast of Siobhan Kelly as Bridgie, Billy Mansfield as Ulick and Leonard Moore as the Bishop ensure several comic moments. This production of Moll is lively, and entertaining and guarantees us all a good night out.

It is a hilarious comedy about life in an Irish country presbytery and is set between the years of 1971 and 1975, in the parish of Ballast. The comedy gives insight into who is truly running local affairs in the parish. As the song goes ‘behind every great man, there’s a great woman’. Behind the management of the parish by Canon Pratt, is his newly-appointed housekeeper, Moll.

The play will take place in in St Bernadette’s Hall in Errill, and starts at 8.30pm. Tickets are €10, with concessions for oaps, students and children. All are welcome to come along.
