A last minute power cut nearly, but didn’t, halt a glamorous, fun-filled fashion show hosted by St Mary’s CBS in Portlaoise
The event took place in the shared sports complex which was transformed for the occasion. The catwalk, bright lights and upbeat music all helped to create an authentic haute couture atmosphere.
The Zambian Immersion Project, which plans to bring 16 students and four teachers to Livingstone Zambia in February 2015, hosted the gig as their first fund raising event.
Emma Lynch and Caroline Brennen, along with leader Laura Mcgarrigle and Brian Carroll spear headed the event. They successfully brought on board an array of Portlaoise boutiques to display their finery. The night commenced with members of the CBS staff modelling beautiful pieces from Erre Esse. The TY pupils of the CBS and Scoil Chriost Ri ably modelled an array of clothing from Born Clothing, Jack & Jones, Carraig Donn, Lily and Rose, Regatta, Farrell’s Dress Hire, Buy Design and Colgans.
Headpieces from Pamela Curtin Millinery added a splash of style and colour to the night.
Despite an all complete power cut in Portlaoise which lasted up to 30 minutes before the event, hundreds of people attended an altogether enjoyable evening.
The Zambian Immersion team are very grateful to all those who purchased tickets, modelled, helped out and contributed to the raffle.
They looked forward to Portlaoise’s support of their Strictly Come Dancing Night on Friday, April, 1 in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel.
