Mountmellick Macra presents the captivating adventure of Jack and the Beanstalk, in Mountmellick Macra Hall from Thursday, February 20 to Sunday, February 23, at 8.15pm sharp with two shows on the Sunday.

The story begins with the poor broke Dame (Gemma Dunphy) and her son the sprightly Jack (Shane Fitzpatrick) and Daisy the Cow. Chief Bailiff (Breda Greaney) with his sister Saliva (Emma), are on a mission to collect all debt owed to them. Seeking the help of the two stooges Smash (Grace Murphy) and Grab (Aoife Fitzpatrick). When it comes to collecting debt from the Dame he gives her one chance to come up with the money, sending her son Jack out to sell Daisy he comes home with “magic” beans the Dame throws them away in disgust. After a big surprise a beanstalk magically appears. What will happen when they all venture up the beanstalk?

Tickets are priced at €8 for adults and €5 for children with a special price of €5 on Thursday (for all) and are available in O’Gorman’s newsagents, or on the door. Group discount rates are available and bookings can be made through pantomime chairperson Rosemary Whelan on 087 2726525.
