Musical treats at Port festival

Music fans in Portarlington have plenty to keep them occupied this weekend with a full line up of musical acts both in the square and in many of the pubs as part of the Festival Francais de Portarlington.

Among those taking to the stage are Smash Hits, Hogan, The Eskies, The Garth Brooks Experience, Tod Doyle, Turas, Macey South, Cramptown Spaces and Almost Instant.

Music will be kicking off in the square each evening from half five, and no doubt there will be lots of activity in the town all day each day, with a wide variety of events to suit young and old.

Among the pubs providing entertainment over the weekend, are O’ Deas, STX Music Venue, The After Dark, The Anvil Inn, The Pint of Port, Gogarty’s Liffey, Delaneys, Orchard Hotel, Jim’s Bar the Hawthorne, Weighbridge, and Dublin Bar.

Other festival fun kicks off at 9.30am each day and there are activities all day, as well as a festival artisan market village which runs from 11am to 6pm on Saturday.
