Taking place this weekend on Saturday May 31 and Sunday June 1, the Portlaoise Voices Across Cultures festival will bring lots of colour and vibrancy to the town’s streets.
Over the weekend there will be a distinctly international flavour in the air as everyone will enjoy over 40 stalls, plenty of live entertainment, childrens workshops, film shows in the Dunamaise theatre, cultural demonstrations all taking place in downtown Portlaoise.
An open air music stage on Saturday May 31 will be headlined by the Cuban Orishas – with their distinctive Carribean flavour. The results of a weekend busking competition will be announced on Sunday June 1. Don’t miss the Portlaoise’ Congalese Women’s Dance Group, Stampede drummers and so much more.
This inaugural festival follows on the success of the Christmas Fair and has also been organised by the Downtown Portlaoise traders committee and the Voices across Culture group.
