Summer film madness in the Dunamaise

If summer holidays are not on the cards for the foreseeable future, film fans can instead schedule the Dunamaise’s film night on a Wednesday for some summer entertainment.

The Dunamaise is hosting a summer movie extravaganza throughout the next few months offering film buffs five movies for just €20. The films will be screened every Wednesday evening and include a popular line-up of both Irish and foreign films.

Movie nights boast box office hits such as multi-award winning Calvary along with an interesting line up of movies that would not have been available in mainstream cinema houses in County Laois.

Calvary, screening on July 9, played to packed theatres across the country starring father and son duo Brendan Gleeson and Domhnall Gleeson along with well-known Irish film actors, Chris O’ Dowd, Dylan Moran and Pat Shortt.

The Sea, screening on June 25, sees Sinead Cusack and a host of high profile Irish actors take to the silver screen in this melancholy tale of loss. Other films screening over the summer include The Past, Tracks and The Lunchbox. Keep reading Stage Left or visit for more information.
