Theatre with plenty of ‘sole’

The Man in the Woman's Shoes.

The Man in the Woman's Shoes.

Nominated for best new play in this year’s Irish Times Theatre Awards, ‘The Man in the Woman’s Shoes’ brings a whimsically enchanting slice of live theatre to the Dunamaise Arts Centre on Wednesday, February 12 at 8pm.

It’s October 1978. Pope John Paul is not long dead, autumn is closing in and Pat Farnon has ‘some business’ to do in town. Join Pat Farnon as he walks the 5 miles from his wee white cottage to town and back again and experience the marvels that he meets along the way. It’s a charming encounter - an ageing man with a boundless enthusiasm for life. Hilariously funny, tender and at times downright daft, The Man in The woman’s Shoes will leave audiences uplifted and in love with life again.

Writer Mikel Murfi trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq, Paris. As an actor his work at the Abbey and Peacock Theatres includes The Playboy of The Western World, and The Tempest.

Tickets for the show are priced €16/€14.
