Vocare present Baroque concert in Portlaoise

Vocaré choral group from Wexford are performing ‘Masters of Italian Baroque’ in St Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise on Saturday May 4 at 8pm.

They will be revisiting a glorious age of early Italian music and 18th centuries.

The programme features Beatus Vir by Monteverdi and Stabat from the 17th Mater by Pergolesi followed by the well loved Gloria by Vivaldi. Vocaré will be joined by Irish soloists Franzita Whelan (soprano) and Victoria Massey (alto).

Franzita’s talent has been recognized through many International and National singing Awards and Scholarships,including the National Mozart Competition, the Lady Maud Warrender Prize and the Clonter Opera Prize.

Also appearing for the first time alongside a professional quartet are students from County Wexford School of Music. This promises to be an exhilarating performance. There is limited availability of tickets so early booking is advisable.
