Tickets on sale for Fatima pilgrimage concert
Concert in aid of Portlaoise Fatima Pilgrimage Group will feature double World Dancing champion Bobby Kinsella
The Portlaoise Fatima Pilgrimage Group invites the community to join in an evening of entertainment in aid of its 30th trip to Portuguese pilgrimage site Fatima.
This is the first year the group has staged a concert to fundraise for the pilgrimage, and they look forward to welcoming a variety of performers to the stage.
The audience will enjoy performances from: St. Joseph’s Accordian Band, Timahoe Male Choir, Vicarstown Ukulele Choir, Stradbally Community Choir, The AJ’, Maurice Crotty & Davids Group, Elaine Walsh and the Lynam School of Dancing.
Local Irish dancing star Bobby Kinsella will also perform on the night. At just twelve, Mr Kinsella is a double World Dancing champion. He also secured wins at the All Ireland, International and Great British Championships this summer. Mr Kinsella, from Stradbally, is starting secondary school at St Mary’s CBS, Portlaoise this September.
The concert will take place at the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Sunday September 20, 2026 at 5.30pm.
Fine Gael Cllr Vivienne Phelan will act as Master of Ceremonies.
Tickets are priced at €15 and can be purchased from John Colton, Maura O’Brien or any other member of the committee. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night.
The group is planning its pilgrimage for June 10, 2027. The pilgrimage will be led by Spiritual Director Fr Adriano accompanied by Fr Pat Hennessy.
The group organiser is Maura O’Brien, for whom next year marks a 30th trip to Fatima.
The 2027 pilgrimage will include a full religious programme as well as guided tours of the Sanctuary and Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and visits to Aljustrel and Valinhos.
