A very special guest indeed came to Scoil Mhuire NS in Abbeyleix, Laois to help them launch their new cookbook.
Despite a busy schedule, Santa Claus took a few hours off on Friday December 7 to meet the schoolchildren and launch the school's first book.
The cookbook titled Scoil Mhuire's Delicious Dishes is packed with over 80 recipes sent in by students from throughout the school.
An ideal Christmas present, all profits from the cookbook are going towards the school building project.
Parents and friends gathered at school and over a cup of tea or coffee relaxed and learned from the expertise of local bakers and chefs, Alice, Caroline, Patricia, Catherine, Martina, Mark and Yvonne.
John Davidson from Music Generation had a group of violinists playing a variety of tunes, followed by Miss Thompson’s Fifth Class school choir singing a selection of festive tunes.
The day concluded with the school's Comhaltas group entertaining the crowds.
The cookbook was complimented by all and is still for sale for €15 through the school, 057 8731051, or in local retail outlets.
