The weekend saw a litany of sporting events around the county, and the country, fall foul of the weather, but the good folks out in The Heath didn't let it bother them too much.

Their annual Great Heath Run saw its latest outing on Sunday, with a large crowd braving the elements to navigate their way around a tough and scenic route. This year also saw the first staging of a 5k race, with Lisa Sweeney and Dave Keenan winning the shorter races, and Stephen Hunter and Charlotte Kearney winning the 10k races.

Our photographer Denis Byrne was there on Sunday, flick through the gallery above to see his pictures from the event.
