GIRLS DIVISION 6 - Killanure NS girls make it a double with win over Timahoe

Killanure are the Allianz Roinn 6 girls champions after a dominant display saw them get the better of Scoil Mhuire Fatima from Timahoe.

Killanure NS 8-10

Scoil Mhuire Fatima Timahoe 1-2

The Killanure girls were hot favourites coming into the game, and they wasted no time in living up to that billing as Tara Lowry fired over a lovely score from the throw in.

Aoife Daly followed that up with a quick-fire brace and then Tara Lowry added another, as Killanure built up a big early lead.

Timahoe were trying their hardest to get forward and fashion some scores, but Lowry added another point for Killanure before she then scored their first goal.

Killanure added two more goals before half time, from Lowry and Ella Cuddy, but it could have been more but for some outstanding goalkeeping from Caoimhe Ramsbottom for Timahoe.

Orlaith McNamara got a score back for Timahoe with a free, but Killanure were in control at half time, leading 3-8 to 0-1.

Things for better for the girls in green when play restarted, with early goals from Tara Lowry (2) and Aoife Daly.

The Timahoe girls refused to give up, however, and they were eventually rewarded with a brilliant point from Orlaith McNamara and a goal from Emma Killeen. However, Tara Lowry's lethal touches kept Killanure on course for the win.
