Fit for Life Summer League Finale.
Well done to everyone that took part in the final stage of our Fit4Life League ON Wednesday Last. It was great to have a big crowd back home. Special thanks to our sponsors Clonmore Quality Foods Killeshin and Farrell McElwee Solicitors. The winners on the night were Stephen Hunter, St. Abban's AC and Grace Reilly, Portlaoise AC.

The Men’s League results was a tough battle with Mick Kelly & Brian Kirwan. Both St. Laurance O'Toole runners finished on identical points with Mick taking the title for winning 3 overall stages. 3rd male overall was the evergreen Colm Burke STA, William Kelly STA was 4th and Ken Archibold again from SLOT was 5th. There was great Carlow representation in the top 5. We appreciate the support and glad they didn't hold the football against us!

Grace Reilly Portlaoise AC had a super campaign, taking the women's title with 5 wins. Colette English STA, after a tough year, was as consistent as ever in 2nd place, Sineád Kelly STA was 3rd, Paula Guinan 4th and Caitríona McDonald 5th. Great running by all!

Also special mention to our Junior winner Timmy Byrne STA, who won the 1k Junior race at each stage of the league.

Thank you to all the local clubs that supported the stages.

The real winners are everyone that takes part each year, push for a PB and improve from race to race. Fit4Life is just that, you’ll have good years and bad years, but taking part is what counts. Nobody likes leaving the house on a Wednesday evening, but it is all worth it for the chat and cup of tea when it is all over.

We appreciate all our volunteers that make each event possible, especially our Chairman Bernard Graham and Treasurer Breda Daly, who go over and beyond coordinating each event.Thank you to Mary Whelan who is still typing up results, when we’re all in bed.

Thank you to our registrars, starters, finishers, timekeepers, water providers, spot prize people, car park attendants and marshals along every route...just to mention a few...Patsy Baldwin, David Baldwin, Margaret Davis, Mary Pender, Jimmy Whelan, Pat Whelan, Pat Kelly, Pauline Lawlor, Sarah Graham and all committee members.

Thank you to every area that welcomes us; Luggacurran, Rossmore, Newtown, Wolfhill, Moneenroe, Ballylinan, Graiguecullen and Moneva. Great effort goes into setting up halls and providing refreshments.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and see you all next year.

Senior training Tuesday and Friday 7:30 – 9:00pm. Cost will be just €2 per session, contact Bernard, Michael or Gavin for more information. Juvenile training suspended for the month of August.
