The children in a Mountmellick montessori were treated to a visit from the local fire fighters during the sunshine last week.

Majella's montessori played host to a number of local fire fighters who were happy to show the children the fire truck and use the hoses.

Jenny McPartland from the montessori said it was a great day for the kids.

"We had a visit from the Mountmellick fire department. The kids were delighted, they had a great morning. They got to sit in the truck and use the hoses. Thanks to all the fire crew who made it so enjoyable," she said.

The firefighters who gave their time were Jason Maher, John Smith, Mick Bishop and Brian Comerford.

Staff at the montessori are Majella Fitzpatrick, Edwina Gamell and Jenny McPartland.
