Fire crews from Laois and Kildare responded to the fire on the M7 truck fire which has hit traffic on the Dublin Cork Limerick motorways.
County Laois Fire and Rescue Service crews from Portlaoise, Stradbally along with the Monasterevin crew from Kildare Fire Service
Crews extinguished the blaze which has required an extensive clean up into Saturday evening, April 13.
The fire took place M7 in the Dublin direction between J15 and J14. The blaze caused the motorway to close from J15.
Plastic sheeting burning foam was used to extinguish the fire which broke out between 6.30pm and 7pm on Saturday evening.
The Laois fire service said An Garda Síochána and Transport infrastructure Ireland were also in attendance.
TII and Gardaí have closed to allow the clean up to take place safely.
