Spring was in the air on the Laois Kildare border in the heart of the National Ploughing Championship organisation's home patch for the area's annual ploughing match.
The 'chilly' temperatures were not enough to put off the competitors in the Ballylinan & District Ploughing match which also happened to be celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The ploughing took place under mainly blue skies with the odd risk of a shower on Paddy Joe Ryan's land.
The ploughing team of horses Larry and Sally and ploughman Godfrey Worrell from Kildangan was a star of the show.
Anna Brennan was another popular visitor with her famous cream cakes which went down a treat.
Managing Director of the National Ploughing Championships Anna May McHugh hails from, and lives in the Ballylinan area on the Laois side of the border.
