Paddles Up Finale Day a winner for all involved in Laois

The  Stradbally Vicarstown Timahoe Activity & Wellness HUB was delighted with how the Waterways Ireland Paddles Up Finale Day came to a close after 24 participants completed 20 hours on the water over the month of April at the Canal, Vicarstown.

They had super weather and it was brilliant to see Clongowes Wood CollegeTY students joining in with our SVT Canoeing & Kayaking Club and taking the #BluewayDoItYourWay trail from Fisherstown to Vicarstown in Kayaks & Canoes.

They were under the great supervision and accompanied by instructor Rachal Rafferty Co Laois and James O' Reilly from Canoeing Ireland and all the crew at Laois Civil-Defence.

As always fantastic local support and hospitality from Sean Ward from Fishermans Thatched Inn and Mary from Creans, Vicarstown and Ann Simpson's Gala Stradbally.

SVT were delighted to get a visit from Rath National School who were out for a walk and come along to join in on the eventful morning.

A huge thank you was extended to the SVT Committee and the locals for running yet again another wonderful event.

The SVT Canoeing & Kayaking Club will be currently open to members only. Membership will be available shortly online and stay tuned for more details on upcoming training.

Have a great weekend and get out and get active. Laois has wonderful amenities on our door step...go enjoy them! Thanks to Laois Sports Partnership and Laois Water Safety for their continued support.
