A Laois Tidy Towns page have taken to social media following incidents of recent dumping.
Abbeyleix Tidy Towns have been working tirelessly in the 31st edition of the International Communities in Bloom competition.
Locals have volunteered their time to brightening the beautiful town, and establishing projects such as the 'Neighbourwood', apiary, Garden of Remembrance and a stunning Community Garden.
Much to the disappointment of many locals, incidents of illegal dumping have taken place in the town's 'Neighbourwood'.
"We have seen incidents of dumping through our CCTV in the Neighbourwood. We planted over 5,000 trees and have worked hard on developing this project, we have planted over 5,000 trees and developed a recreational area," Chair of Abbeyleix Tidy Towns Mr Robbie Quinn told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

"Sadly, someone has been dumping rubbish in the area in recent days. It appears that someone is either cleaning out their garden, or emptying out their shed, as there were trampoline parts, a table and rolls of lino dumped," he said.
"Dumping is not a massive problem locally, but it is when everyone is working so hard, it only takes an inconsiderate few to give everyone a bad name," Mr Quinn explained.
"We are still under consideration for the Communities in Bloom Competition, a decision will not be made until August. We could also receive a surprise visit from the Tidy Towns judgement panel at any stage.
"We have CCTV footage of the incident, which we will pass on to relevant authorities if the responsible party does not come back and remove their rubbish, and get rid of it appropriately, rather than dumping it somewhere else," he said.
Mr Quinn highlighted that while there is much excitement in the community following the visit of the Communities in Bloom judges, however a dark cloud has hovered over the town following the sad passing of a young man in a motorbike accident this week.
