Learn Irish Sign Language for free in Laois

If you made a new year's resolution to learn a new skill, here is the perfect opportunity for a skill that builds inclusivity in Laois.

The Laois Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB) is offering a free Sign Language course.

The course will run each Wednesday night for two hours, over six weeks, at Portlaoise College, starting on January 18.

You can register your interest by filling in their online form here. 

Irish Sign Language is the first and/or preferred language of 5000 Deaf people in Ireland and approximately 40,000 people in general will communicate in ISL (family, friends, co-workers, etc). It is also used as a communication tool by non verbal people.
