IN PICTURES: Samba time as Laois hosts first Brazil Carnaval in Portlaoise

They might have been thousands of miles from home but the atmosphere was as hot, as it is in Brazil, when the south american country's expats in Laois held their First Brazilian Carnaval in Portlaoise.

While the great Carnival in Rio was taking place, t he Labras-Laois Brazilian Support Association, organised their own festival at Jerimiah Grant's. "We wanted to show how great our Brazilian culture, music and food are. That's why you could try our dishes, drinks and dance like Brazilians in Rio de Janeiro.
