Want to learn how to upcycle furniture in Laois? Find out at Portlaoise event
Have you ever wanted to upcycle an old chair of chest of drawers or some other piece of old furniture you feel deserves a new life?
If so, than an upcoming event in Portlaoise might be the perfect place to start.
Europe Direct Portlaoise and Portlaoise Library say they are delighted to host an upcycling furniture demonstration with the Rediscovery Centre Dublin.
The Rediscovery Centre is the National Centre for the Circular Economy in Ireland. It's described as a creative movement connecting people, ideas and resources to support greener low-carbon living.
Portlaoise Library say this workshop is suitable for everyone from beginners to those who would like to learn new furniture revamping techniques.
You'll be able to learn how to prep and paint your furniture before trying out many different techniques including decoupage, stenciling, glazing, distressing, using frog tape and how to plan out a design for your piece.
This event takes place on Wednesday, April 19 at 11 am. The Library says spaces limited and early booking is recommended.
