Laois young entertainer wins 'trophy nearly as big as himself'

A young Laois boy has won a huge trophy for his drama performance.

Eoin Murphy from Portlaoise has won Star of the Show, at the Showtops variety show competition.

He is a student of the Speak Out drama school in Portlaoise.

His teacher Sonya Cuddy is delighted for Eoin, and for another group of her students from Cloghan who won two further trophies at the competition.

"We are so proud of our students' recent success in the prestigious Showtops variety show competition. They flew the flag for the Midlands and live in Portlaoise and Cloghan respectively.

"They returned home to the Midlands with three trophies.

"Eoin won the STAR OF THE SHOW trophy and as you can see it's nearly as big as himself," she said.

Speak Out Drama is a Stage School running since 2017 in both Portlaoise, Laois and Cloghan, Offaly for children aged from 3 to 17 years. They learn Speech and Drama, Musical Theatre, Acro Dance, Hip Hop Dance, and Voice.
