Dungeons and Dragons weekly game coming to Laois

The popular game of Dungeons and Dragons is coming to Laois, with a callout for players from the county to join in a game based in Portlaoise.

Laois Partnership is inviting players to gather for the fantasy role play table top game at their headquarters on the Timahoe Road in Portlaoise.

"Hear ye, hear ye, adventurers wanted. Brave souls of Portlaoise, the time has come to embark on an epic quest," they announced this week.

The game will take place every Wednesday at 5pm at the office which is the former St Francis School at the junction to Kylekiproe.

"Grab your dice, ready your spells, and prepare for a legendary D&D quest. Will you answer the call?" they say.

Laois Partnership say they welcome "beginners, seasoned adventurers, and chaotic neutral dice rollers alike".

"No experience? No problem! We'll guide you through the arcane arts of character creation, dice rolling, and how to talk your way out of an accidental tavern brawl with a very grumpy half-orc. RSVP via phone - 087 333 1809 (Cassia)".

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a fantasy role-playing game that originated in America in the 1970s, soaring in popularity with spin off movies and books. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world in which multiple players form a group that is led through an adventure by one player who assumes the role of the storyteller, or Dungeon Master.
