Tilly Doyle from Ballybrittas

Farming mad tractor expert Tilly Doyle has the welly to go all the way and win The Laois Rose 2025 this weekend.

The Ballybrittas 20 year old is one of the 17 young women taking part in the Laois Rose Selection Night.

Tilly whose parents are originally from Dublin, told the Leinster Express / Laois Live about herself.

"I was born and raised in Laois. I don’t come from a farming background, but I’ve always had a strong interest in agriculture.

"That passion led me to Gurteen Agricultural College, where I spent two years studying and earned my Level 5 and 6 qualifications in Dairy Management.

"My time at Gurteen gave me hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the industry. Now, a bit of a change from working with the cows, I’m now working in parts as the only female in the garage in Templetouhy Farm Machinery here in Emo.

"I will continue to build my knowledge and enjoy helping customers find the right solutions for their farming needs," she said.

The Laois Rose Selection Night takes place in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Friday, April 18. The winner will take part in the televised International Rose of Tralee in Kerry this August.

The Leinster Express / Laois Live is the proud Media Sponsor for the Laois Rose Selection.
