Laois is set to be a magnet for trad music fans at the Portlaoise TradFest over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

The local organising committee invite local people to come out and enjoy a weekend of entertainment filled with the very best in traditional Irish music events from Friday to Sunday, May 2 to 4, around Portlaoise.

The organisers told the Leinster Express / Laois Live that this highly anticipated festival will bring a host of renowned artists, lively sessions, enriching workshops and engaging events to Portlaoise, celebrating Ireland’s rich musical heritage.

The festival team is also thrilled that the legendary Dervish will headline at the Dunamaise Arts Centre at 8 pm on May 2, delivering their spellbinding blend of traditional music and song to an eager audience.

Meanwhile, Scullion and Ye Vagabonds, two of Ireland’s most exciting contemporary folk acts, will take to the stage at Kavanagh’s, ensuring a memorable experience for festival-goers.

Beyond the stellar performances, the organising committee say Portlaoise TradFest 2025 will offer an unparalleled programme of events that will include lots of Laois musicians. MORE BELOW PICTURE.
