Laois punk folk band The Outcast Crew have earned a major accolade at an international music awards event.

The Portlaoise-centred outfit and producer Elliot Daniels won the Production Music Award for Epic Hybrid Trailer Track at this year’s Production Music Awards held at the O2 in London.

The winning track appears on the hard-hitting production music album Blinding Geezers, released on the label Sounds from the Echo District, part of Warner Chappell Production Music.

The album was written by Laois man Brian O’Mahoney, Elliot Daniels, and Darren Campbell Jenkins.

"Known for its gritty, raw, and edgy sound, the project pushes stylistic boundaries. While producing the album, Daniels believed that a contribution from The Outcast Crew — O’Mahoney’s own band — would perfectly match its fierce energy. His instincts proved right," said a statement to the Leinster Express / Laois Live.  MORE BELOW PHOTO.

The Outcast Crew are no strangers to high-profile placements. Their track “Bound for Hell” was recently featured in the BBC documentary on The Kinahans, bringing their electrifying blend of punk and folk to an even wider audience.

The band have also toured internationally as well as performing locally in Laois at Forest Fest, Electric Picnic and Kavanagh's in Portlaoise.

Outside his role as lead singer of The Outcast Crew, Brian O’Mahoney also runs Audio Orchard, an Irish-based production music library representing a diverse roster of Irish, UK, and international composers. With its expanding catalogue and growing talent base, Audio Orchard continues to emerge as a rising force in the global production music landscape.

The members of the Laois-based trad-punk band The Outcast Crew are Brian O'Mahoney (vocals/guitar), Finn O'Mahoney (bass), John Davidson (fiddle/vocals), Damien O'Meara (accordion/harmonica/vocals), David Harte (banjo/vocals), and Paul Flynn (drums). The band formed in 2021 and has released two albums, "Myths and Yarns" and "Rovin' Again".
