Katelyn Cummins and Leonardo Lini danced a Rumba
The Laois Rose of Tralee may be aiming for dancing perfection on RTÉ when Dancing with the Stars Ireland screens for a milestone show.
After scoring three tens and a nine over the St Valentine's Day weekend, the reigning Laois Rose and Rose of Tralee, Katelyn Cummins and her partner Leonardo Lini, will return with a Viennese Waltz.
Sure to provide more fantastic entertainment, their dance on Sunday, February 22, will be inspired by Season Three winner Mairéad Ronan’s semi-final performance to “You Are the Reason” by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis.
Back in 2019, Mairéad earned her first tens of the series with this performance, so Katelyn will be hoping for similar luck seven years later.
Katelyn and Leonardo almost hit the perfect score when they danced the Rumba to “No Matter What” by Boyzone. They received 39 points with judge Brian Redmond deciding that the sultry performance wasn't quite deserving of the perfect ten.
The Ballyouskill apprentice electrician is the bookies' favourite to win the competition outright after her succession of high mark dances before the judges that have wowed the legion of DWTS fans in the studio and at home watching on TV.
The Laois Rose is one of seven All-Stars to return to the ballroom, where each of the seven couples will be mentored by a contestant from one of the previous eight seasons.
The couples will be challenged with having to redo, reimagine and reinterpret some of the All-Stars’ most iconic dances from their season. Although not actually dancing on the night, each mentor will visit their couple in the rehearsal room to advise them during the week and will also be on hand live on Sunday to cheer them on.

Since Dancing with the Stars burst onto screens in January 2017, the show has seen over 100 celebrities do over 1,000 dances and this weekend we look back on some of the most memorable moments of all.
The Traitors Ireland star Paudie Moloney and his partner Laura Nolan will take viewers way back to 2017 when they revisit season one. They be mentored by the one and only Des Cahill as they put their own spin on his Salsa to “Soul Bossa Nova” by Quincy Jones, which at that time featured Des’ iconic ‘Dessie Swim’ made famous by him and pro partner Karen Byrne.
Olympic rower, Philip Doyle and his partner Daniela Roze will have big dance shoes to fill as they take on Season Two champ Jake Carter’s Contemporary Ballroom to Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times”. Both Des Cahill and Jake Carter were paired with Karen Byrne, who swapped the dancefloor for the judging panel, in their respective seasons so she will be paying close attention to how both couples get on.
Fair City actress Stephanie Kelly and her pro dancer Ervinas Merfeldas will be joined in rehearsals by Stephanie’s Carrigstown co-star and Season Four runner-up, Ryan Andrews. Ryan will be showing Stephanie the ropes for the Samba to Šum Svistu’s ‘Lo-Lo Dzama’, which earned him a top score in the 2020 final.
It’s a case of Jordan v Jordan for The Apprentice star Jordan Dargan this weekend. Having survived last week’s dreaded Dance-Off, he and his partner Rebecca Scott will be taken under the wing of Season Five runner-up Jordan Conroy. Rugby star Conroy, who is a friend of Dargan, will be showing him how to Jive as Dargan takes on Conroy’s 2022 Jive to “Runaway Baby” by Bruno Mars.
Ireland AM host Eric Roberts and his partner Arianna Favaro will be joined in studio by his sometimes TV co-host and Season Six runner-up, Brooke Scullion. Eric will reimagine the singer’s Movie Week Paso Doble to “The Greatest Show” from The Greatest Showman. As one of Brooke’s stand-out dances from her season, all eyes will be on Eric to see how he gets on.
Singer-songwriter Tolü Makay and her pro dancer Maciej Zieba will be shown how to bring extra attitude to the floor by Season Seven finalist, Blu Hydrangea. The RuPaul’s Drag Race winner will be teaching Tolü to Tango as she takes on her memorable Week 3 routine to Lady Gaga’s “Applause”.

The audience will be filled with former Dancing with the Stars alumni from the previous eight seasons, who will also give some of their favourite moments from the last decade of dance.
The two couples with the lowest combined points from the judges and public will face-off against each other in the Dance-Off.
Dancing with the Stars returns Sunday, 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
