On Saturday July 5, Dublin band The Pale will be taking to the stage in Kavanaghs Courtyard in Portlaoise.
The Pale formed in Dublin 1990. The group had a unique and unusual style from the very beginning which still follows through to today. The vocal, mandolin, drum machine, bass, and acoustic guitar lineup of The Pale had an individual approach to songwriting. That year The Pale recorded a mini album called ‘Why Go Bald?’ which grabbed the attention of both the public and record companies alike. On receiving modest funding from U2 manager Paul McGuinness The Pale recorded a mini album called ‘The Happy Ring House’.
They released ‘Here’s One We Made Earlier’ in 1992 to critical acclaim, and this album was home to their best known track ‘Butterfly’. The group have been busy ever since touring and creating music. The show kicks off at 9pm, and there is no charge in. Visit www.kavanaghsportlaoise.com for more information.
