The 14th Dalai Lama invited 40 of the West’s leading, most innovative thinkers to his residence in the Himalayan Mountains to discuss the world’s problems. What transpired was unexpected and powerful and was captured by an 18 person 5 camera film crew. During the Q and A, Los Angeles based Producer-Director Khashyar Darvich will answer questions from the audience, as well as share his experience spending time with the Dalai Lama and what led to the transformational experience captured in the “Dalai Lama Renaissance” documentary film.

From Thursday July 19 to Sunday July 22 in Birr Theatre, the Somatic Summer School will be presented by Legitimate Bodies Dance Company with David Lakein. This four day intensive workshop is for performers, body-workers, life coaches, martial artists, therapists and counsellors, healing arts practitioners, visual artists and musicians during which participants will be taken on a journey from their internal landscape in their sensory body to the finding of inspiration in the form of individual and group images in the space. The cost is €100 and the workshop runs from 10am to 6pm each day.

From Tuesday July 24 to Friday August 3, the 7th annual Summer School of Rock will be back in Birr Theatre. Facilitated by award winning multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter Brendan Keeley this two week course will give participants intensive training in writing and performing songs as well as providing training.
