County hall is set to host two public meetings taking place to discuss its new five year arts plan to run from 2012 to 2017.
Laois County Council arts officer Muireann Ni Chonnaill said the meetings would be held later this month,
“It is important to listen to what people have to say and get ideas about what they would like to see happening. We have cast our net wide and embraced all the art forms. We welcome as many people as possible to the meetings,” she said.
The first meeting will take place in the Dunamaise Arts Centre at 7.30pm on Tuesday August 21. Those interested in the areas of drama, dance and literature, festivals and venues are invited to attend this meeting. The next meeting will take place in The Arthouse, Stradbally on Wednesday August 22 at 7.30pm. Those interested in the areas of visual arts, education: young people, children and music are invited to attend this meeting.
These meetings will last no more than an one hour and attendees are asked to register with the Arts Office in advance of the meeting at 057 86 74342. Those interested can also email firstname.lastname@example.org
