THE National Print Museum will make their first visit to Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge as part of the Summer Print family programme this July.
Children aged from eight to 12 years old can come and join members of the museum’s education and outreach team for this exciting two-part workshop, where young participants will be introduced to old-fashioned poster printing and origami techniques.
Those taking part will have the opportunity to work with artefacts from the Museum’s collection to hand set and print their names in metal type, which will then be inserted into a ‘WANTED’ poster, and printed on The Farley Proofing Press.
Children will also be shown how to make and decorate a traditional printer’s paper hat. Both the poster and the hat can then be taken away at the end of the workshop.
