THE South East Laois Arts Network will be entering the Pride of Place competition on Thursday July 11.
The Network will be showcasing a variety of drama, music, art, childrens activities, African drumming and more in St Anne’s Hall in Ballylinan from 2.30pm to 5pm. This event is open to everyone to come along and enjoy the festivities.
Brid Brophy from the network is looking forward to showcasing the many artists, writers, musicians and more who will be there on the day.
She said that there is a wide variety of events provided by the network for south east Laois. “It depends on what people want and whatever areas we are looking for, we do the best we can to source people from the local communities”.
The network provides a platform for local, national and international artists and musicians. “It is all about people opening up to their own creativity. These are nice feelgood events where people can have a cup of tea and a chat, and support eachother”.
Brid added that since the network started in 2006, it has been growing and growing.
“The potential is massive for the whole south east Laois area”, she enthused. All are encouraged to come and support Thursday’s festivities.
